This Cookie Policy explains how MSB Status (MSBStatus.com), published by Adam Atlas Attorneys at Law ("we", "us", or "our"), uses cookies and similar browser storage technologies when you visit or use the platform (the "Service"). By continuing to use the Service, you accept this policy.
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They allow the site to recognize your device on subsequent requests and remember information such as your authentication state. We also use browser local storage — a similar mechanism that stores data on your device but is never transmitted to our servers.
The table below lists every cookie and local storage key set by or on behalf of the Service.
| Name | Category | Purpose | Provider | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| __client_uat | Essential | Tracks whether you have an active Clerk session on this device. Used to decide whether to show the sign-in UI or load your account. HttpOnly, Secure. | Clerk | 1 year |
| __session | Essential | Stores your current Clerk session JWT. Authenticates you on each request and allows the server to verify your identity without requiring you to sign in again. HttpOnly, Secure. | Clerk | Session |
| __clerk_db_jwt | Essential | A short-lived JWT used by Clerk during authentication handshakes to communicate securely between the browser and Clerk's backend. Set and cleared automatically during sign-in flows. | Clerk | Minutes |
| msb_cookies_accepted (localStorage) | Functional | Remembers that you have acknowledged the cookie notice banner, so it is not shown again on subsequent visits. Stored in browser localStorage — never sent to our servers. | MSB Status (local) | Persistent |
| msb_disclaimer_dismissed (localStorage) | Functional | Remembers that you have dismissed the data disclaimer banner. Stored in browser localStorage — never sent to our servers. | MSB Status (local) | Persistent |
The Clerk authentication cookies (__client_uat, __session, __clerk_db_jwt) are strictly necessary for the Service to function. You cannot opt out of them while using the Service. If you block all cookies, you will not be able to sign in to the platform.
The local storage items are functional preferences only and have no effect on platform functionality if cleared — they will simply cause the banners to appear again.
You can view, delete, and block cookies through your browser's settings. Most browsers provide a "Privacy" or "Site Settings" menu where you can manage cookies per site. Deleting or blocking the authentication cookies listed above will sign you out of the platform. Common browser guides:
To clear the local storage preference flags, open your browser's developer tools (F12), go to Application > Local Storage, and delete the keys listed in the table above, or use "Clear Site Data" for this domain.
Account authentication is handled by Clerk, a third-party authentication service. Clerk may set cookies on its own subdomain during OAuth flows and cross-device authentication. These cookies are set by Clerk and governed by Clerk's Privacy Policy. We use a Replit-managed Clerk tenant, meaning user credential data is stored within Replit's infrastructure in accordance with Replit's data processing terms.
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Any material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date at the top of this page. We will notify registered users of significant changes. Continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
